Late Nights, Early mornings
6:00 pm
I’m one to fully support the early mornings. As unpleasant and uncomfortable as they may seem, i think there are a couple of strong reasons for them being the only way to start the day. I am aware of the early day model that becomes your day to day routine when you get a job, but i believe that an even earlier waking up time would be even more beneficial.
To make things simple, i will make a list of the reasons to wake up early:
- you get to still catch the night & coffee usually tastes better
- waking up in the shower
- listening to the early morning radio service. (i personally go – for the BBC World Service and am impatiently waiting for the Monocle 24 to start broadcasting)
- you can go for a run on the empty streets and catch up with some podcasts or listen to some music.
- have enough time to prepare a healthy breakfast
- get a chance to catch up with the emails and also plan your day
- you get an amazing start to the day, and discover that there is enough time to do all the things you wanted to do.
Also, there are some obvious reasons for why waking up early in the morning is not your cup of {insert favourite hot beverage}.
- the sleep is sweeter in the wee hours of the morning
- night is moreĀ alluringĀ then the morning sun
- you look out of the window and see that everybody else is sleeping and are wondering what on earth is going on with you
- you realise it’s close to mid day and you have not done anything of the millions of things that you were suppose to do
I am biased towards getting up and running early, and i can’t really see a reason for oversleeping, hence my thin list of reasons why it’s not a good idea. Conclusion? Tomorrow i’m getting up early!
